Lucian T. Hood, Jr.

Lucian Hood was one of the most prolific architects, that has placed his mark on Houston. He was a true genius and not pretentious. He was probably the last AIA architect to really do a substantial amount of residential work in Houston. Today it is all "House designers". It could at one time be said, when he was still living, that he had designed more houses in River Oaks than any living architect. I can only offer this for you;

I found a Lucian Hood house in this book, but it was one of his older ones (Modern Style).

A search of the Chronicle will turn up some adds for homes he designed that are for sale.

Also, one of his very early homes, of experimental concrete construction, was on a previous AIA home tour. It was very nicely and meticulously restored. It was highlighted in an issue of Atomic Ranch magazine.
